Holotype: USNM 4303 (formerly SIM 4303), collected by Lieut. N. Michler (Darien Survey Expedition) between 1857–1860. [lost fide Peters (1960a: 535)]

Type locality: “region of the Truando, New Grenada [=Colombia]”.
